Bearing physical and chemical testing is the process of testing and analysing the physical and chemical properties of bearing materials, is essential to ensure the quality, performance and reliability of bearings, the performance of metal materials, phase chemical composition, mechanical properties, grease, oil, water and other non-metallic materials testing.

Among the physical properties testing are:

Hardness test

Detection methods: commonly used Rockwell hardness tester, Brinell hardness tester and Vickers hardness tester for testing. For example, in the detection of bearing rings and rolling elements, Rockwell hardness tester can be used to measure the surface hardness.

Metallographic analysis

Detection method: through the bearing material sampling, setting, grinding, polishing and corrosion and other processing, in the metallurgical microscope to observe its metallurgical organisation, such as pearlite, bainite, martensite and so on.

Dimensional accuracy testing

Detection method: use calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machine and other precision gauges to measure the inner diameter, outer diameter, width, roller diameter and other dimensions of the bearing.
